Stan Preston grew up in Leeds. In his working life, he was in the army, he was an assistant manager at a cinema in Wakefield and a packer in an electrical components factory. He later became a member of Wythenshawe Writers Group. In All Innocence, his collection of poetry, was published posthumously by Commonword.
