Ron Jesson was born in Barrow-in-Furness in 1946.  He came to Partington, Greater Manchester to work as a teacher, but he eventually became a youth worker. With his partner Hazel Sauntry he fostered teenagers and took part in the Lifetimes project, in which he got to document some of his life story.
