Ailsa Cox is a fiction writer and critic. She was born and raised in Walsall, West Midlands, but has spent most of her adult life in the north west of England. She was an early Commonword worker and writer, first getting involved in the late Seventies. She is professor of short fiction at Edge Hill University.
