Frances Nagle

Frances Nagle was born and brought up in Nottingham. She studied sociology at York University. On graduation she moved to Salford and started a career in teaching. She has travelled to India and Nepal, spending time en route in Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. She has lived in in Marple Bridge with her family, worked in her local bookshop and as a home tutor for Stockport education department, working intensively with children who are not attending school. Frances began writing seriously in 1991. She has been a member of Marple Writers’ Workshop and Manchester Poets and finds other writers a vital support for the loneliness and difficulty of writing poetry.  She is pictured first on the bottom left in this picture.
