Deyika Nzeribe (1966-2017)

Deyika Nzeribe was a writer of poetry and short stories. He was also a tireless activist and campaigner. He was born in Manchester where he lived for all of his life. He became involved in Cultureword in the Nineties and is important in the history of Commonword. He was its finance worker, and later chair of the management committee. He was also a member of Southern Voices, a group which educates around issues facing the global south and co-chair of Sustained Theatre Up North. At the time of his death, he was the Green Party candidate for the Greater Manchester mayoral election.
