Carlene Montoute

Carlene Montoute was part of the Liverpool 8 Writers Group in the early 1980s before she moved to Manchester and joined Cultureword’s Identity writers group.  She was one of the founder members of Blackscribe, the first black women’s writing and performance collective in the north west of England.  Carlene was also involved in Frontline Theatre Company’s production Struggle for Freedom – the life and work of Len Johnson which toured extensively.  She has also been published in Faber & Faber’s Hardlines 1. She attended Cultureword’s Identity workshop.
