Voices was a Manchester-based magazine which published worker writers. This was a term given to working class people, whose identity as working class people in working class jobs formed a strong part of their identity as writers. While Voices did not come out of Commonword, the work of writers featured within its covers also appeared Commonword publications and vice versa. Voices became the magazine of Britain’s Federation of Worker Writers and Community Publishers (FWWCP) of which Commonword was a member organisation. The archive holds nine of its thirty-one issues.
